A unique battle escape room
The Aalsmeer Water Tower was built between 1926 and 1928, designed by architect Hendrik Sangster. Already during construction, stories were circulating in Aalsmeer about Sangster and his team of builders, whom people here thought were just strange birds. What were they arguing about in the pub at night after work? Thus a rumor arose that strange things were being hidden in the tower by the builders. Over time, the tower keepers all embraced that rumor as unexplained things were found in the tower. The last tower keeper invited you to help him with his search, since he himself is now too old to climb the tower. And he was, he thought, very close to unraveling the riddle once and for all. Everything he found, he left in a suitcase for you. Will you guys know how to solve the mystery once and for all?
In 1 or 2 teams of 1 to 6 players per team, try to reach the top of the tower by solving all the puzzles scattered throughout the tower. With 2 teams it is a real battle escape room! If your team manages to reach the top at a height of 50 meters you can enjoy the view over the lake and Aalsmeer.
Costs:
€ 139,- for 2-6 players, € 210,- for 7 to 9 players, € 270,- for 10 to 12 players (with more than 6 players you automatically play in 2 teams), game duration up to 60 minutes, including introduction and conclusion you will be with us in the tower for about an hour and a half. You can extend your visit with lunch, dinner or drinks at one of the nearby restaurants we work with. Look for all options on this page!
NB: This experience takes place in the Watertower of Aalsmeer, NOT at our location at the Oosteinderweg in Aalsmeer, where Google Maps sends you when you search for Turf Aalsmeer. Due to the many stairs in the tower, this experience is not suitable for very young or very old players and for the disabled.
Bookings are requests until the foundation managing the tower has confirmed your requested time and day. At that time, we will confirm your booking. This can currently take some time, often up to 1 or 2 weeks in advance. We apologize for this inconvenience.
Limited availability
This experience can only be played outside the breeding season of the peregrine falcon that nests in the tower. That means the game is not normally playable between January and June. You can check current availability on our 'Book' page!
The Water Tower of Aalsmeer is a monument managed by a foundation. Our game is based on historical data about the tower and per group we pay € 30,- to the foundation to preserve the tower for future generations.
Parking
Free parking is available at On the Rock restaurant (often limited space on hot days) or along Bach Avenue; both are a few hundred feet walk from the tower.
