What differentiates you from escape rooms?
Our aim, unlike many escape rooms, is to offer a complete experience; a warm welcome, a very diverse range of games, a cozy place to talk after and various lunch, drinks and dinner arrangements. On weekdays or weekends, in small or large groups; we offer a unique experience for everyone. Did you know that we also design and build unique games and experiences for other companies? By the way, we also offer 'just' traditional escape rooms, especially at Turf Mijdrecht. 'Gold Creek' is a combination of escape room and laser gaming. 'Trust Nobody', 'Movement Mats', Music Bingo and our pub quiz all have nothing to do with escape rooms. Fort K, Fort Kids, the Black Rose, the Tower Keeper and the Swarte Westenders are escape rooms but a little different; in unique locations, sometimes in teams against each other and sometimes you have to break in instead of escape.
There are more than 15 of us, now what?
Gold Creek we also sometimes play with 16-18 people, just know that this is on the full side. are you with even more people? Then we also offer several options for large groups. For example, play the game in 2 groups, where 1 group plays Gold Creek and the other group plays a pub quiz, music bingo, old Dutch games or Movement Mats. Halfway through, we then turn the tables! Or play our game 'Trust Nobody' with 8 to 48 people. Thus we have already organized outings for groups of 4 to 50 people large - or larger at your own location! Feel free to contact us for the possibilities!
Can we extend the games with drinks or dinner?
At Turf Mijdrecht and Turf Aalsmeer, drinks can always be ordered. A bitter garnish can only be reserved in advance. In terms of dinners at our own locations, we offer our own pizzas or the options of Catering Aelsmeer, but you can also go to restaurants in our area that we work with. Look for all options on this page.
What if we want to come back to you again?
You can! Gold Creek is played from 1 of 3 houses. All three of these houses are different, as are the puzzles and hiding places that go with them. So you can definitely come and play this game 3 times! You can also come and play laser tag as often as you like, or play one of our other games such as Trust Nobody, Fort K, the Tower Keeper, The Black Rose or The Black Westenders.
I would like to have such a game in my company myself, is it possible?
You certainly can! We also design and build unique games and experiences for other entrepreneurs, including the Cambrigde Museum of Technology in Cambridge and Home Of Heroes in Buggenum. Feel free to contact us to discuss the possibilities!
Gold Creek and Children's Parties
Can we play Gold Creek in English?
Yes you can! Just make sure you choose 'English' when you book the game.
What exactly is Gold Creek?
Gold Creek is a Western village in a hall of 230m2 in which you are 'locked up' with your own group of 4 to 15 people (divided into 2 or 3 teams) and your task is to find or earn as much gold as possible with your team within 70 minutes. This can be done by solving puzzles, searching well, negotiating with the other teams, taking gold from other teams or by making smart strategic moves. Think of it as a board game in real life. Or an escape room that you don't just have to escape from. Or laser gaming with a story. In short; a 'real life game'; a real-life game that can go either way; you can make it as difficult as you want!
Is Gold Creek an Escape room?
The idea did originate from that once, but in fact it no longer is. In fact, you no longer have to escape from our village. You do have to escape from your house with your team at the beginning of the game, but after that you can walk around freely in the village. Furthermore, the same game elements are in our game as in most escape rooms; solving puzzles, interpreting hints, searching well and thinking strategically.
In addition, unlike "normal" escape rooms, Gold Creek also offers larger clubs, groups of friends or groups of colleagues the opportunity to take on the challenge together. You can compete with 2 or 3 teams at the same time in the village, which adds an extra element of competition to the game. Where in an escape room you compete for who escapes the fastest, with us you compete for which team has the most gold at the end of the game!
Isn't Gold Creek too childish for us?
Gold Creek is ideal for Corporate Events and adult groups, but children may play along (8 years old and up). Childish it certainly isn't! Want the Book for a children's party? Then book Gold Creek Kids.
Is Gold Creek scary?
No it certainly isn't. There are some light and sound effects to make it extra exciting, but scary it is not. There are no scares or actors in this game.
Just want to have it WELL scary? Then book the horror edition of Gold Creek in our booking system! This is limited availability each month.
Can we also order drinks or snacks at Gold Creek?
In our cozy lounge, you can also order a drink at our bar for a fee to have a chat and perhaps grab a game from our games cabinet. For larger groups we can also organize a pub quiz here. You can also order appetizers (advance booking required), share a stone oven pizza or have a full buffet at our location!
I am in a wheelchair, so can I play Gold Creek?
Most of our space is wheelchair accessible and for the most part, you can also join in our game just fine! Of course, laser gaming is a little more difficult if you are in a wheelchair, and it is also more difficult to maneuver around the gaming area if you are playing with large teams. Feel free to contact us if you want to know our experiences!
I am pregnant, so can I play Gold Creek?
You certainly can! The laser game element is 100% safe according to the supplier's statement (it works with harmless infrared rays - the same thing that comes out of your TV remote control) and otherwise you have complete control in terms of physical exertion. We regularly receive pregnant women who are having just as much fun as the rest of their group.
How can we pay at Gold Creek?
Pay for the game directly when booking via iDeal. Drinks can be paid with us via PIN or wireless. For companies it is possible to make an invoice afterwards.
Can we eat homemade cake at your place?
You may! But we do not have plates and cutlery, so you will have to bring that yourself as well. For parties, you can come in about half an hour before the booked start time, or you can stay with us for up to half an hour afterwards for cake. Please do indicate it in your booking!
Why are children's parties for ages 8 and up?
Our games take place in themed rooms with light and sound effects. The younger a child is, the more likely his/her vivid imagination will cause him/her to find it too exciting. In addition, often the younger a child is, the less likely there is enough focus to actually solve puzzles (together). In practice, 8 years appears to be a limit at which many children are "old enough" for this type of game. But we also allow children as young as 7 (or younger, if playing with adults) at the parents' own risk. Fort Kids is just a bit more exciting because it takes place in a real old fortress and contains even more difficult puzzles, which is why we basically keep a limit of 10 there without adult supervision (and 8 with supervision).
Fort K and Fort Kids
What exactly is Fort K?
Fort K is an escape room in the old Fort in de Kwakel. You play in a team of 2 to 8 people to infiltrate the secret society that has cracked the fort as quickly as possible. The entire game takes 50 to 80 minutes. Search, solve puzzles and work together; will you succeed in penetrating to the core of the fort before time runs out?
Is Fort K an escape room?
Yes! It is a unique experience where the goal is not only to escape, but first to penetrate the fortress to the core within the time. You do this by solving as many puzzles as possible within 75 minutes.
What is the difference between Fort K and Fort Kids?
There is little difference in the two games, but in "Fort Kids," suitable for children 10 to 14 years old without adult supervision, we have simplified the most difficult puzzles, tweaked some sound effects and help with more hints if needed.
Fort K can be played with children as young as 8 years old, but only under adult supervision. This is because it is twilight inside and some of the puzzles are quite tough.
Where is Fort K located?
The game Fort K takes place at the Fort near the Kwakel (The Fort 55). You start outside. So it is NOT at the pin 'Turf Aalsmeer' on Google Maps (on the Oosteinderweg): there you will find our other game; Gold Creek.
Can we have a drink at Fort K as well?
Yes, you can at our neighbors at Bar Het Fort if you book a package with us! You can find those packages here.
I am in a wheelchair, so can I play Fort K?
This is largely possible, only the final part (about 15 minutes) will not be fully accessible... Contact us for details on this!
Can we play Fort K in English?
Yes, just select this option in the booking process!
Is Fort K scary/exciting?
Because of the time pressure and the use of light and sound effects, it is certainly exciting, but it is not scary. We don't scare you and there are no horror elements in the game.
Just WANT to play a scary version of Fort K? Then book the horror edition! This is limited availability per month.
How can we pay Fort K?
Payment for the game is made directly at the time of booking via iDeal. For companies it is possible to make an invoice afterwards.
The Swarte Westenders
What exactly is The Swarte Westenders?
De Swarte Westenders is a unique escape game on the water. You and your team of maximum 10 people will explore the Westeinderplassen on our special aluminum research boat, looking for a lost loot of the gang of De Swarte Westenders who plundered the neighborhood 500 years ago. Will your team succeed in finding the loot within 90 minutes by puzzling, searching and working together?
Is The Swarte Westenders an escape room?
Hard to say, because you don't escape from a room (after all, the literal translation of an escape room). But you do have to solve puzzles together just like in an escape room within the time limit and work well together to reach the final goal. But no worries; you always get off our little boat, even if you didn't manage to find the loot within the time!
Where is De Swarte Westenders located?
Since this game takes place on a boat, it is just where is convenient. We offer a number of standard boarding locations in Aalsmeer and Kudelstaart. Would you like to embark and disembark somewhere else, this is often possible in consultation!
Can we have a drink on board, too?
It is possible to buy drinks on board. Because there is limited (refrigerated) space, we ask you to indicate in advance if/how much/what you plan to drink along the way, and we will make sure we have that on board!
I am in a wheelchair, can I play the Swarte Westenders?
You can! It is a bit tricky because our boat is not very big; so you will have to be helped on and off by your teammates.
Can we play the Swarte Westenders in English?
Sadly at this point this is not (yet) possible.
Is The Swarte Westenders scary/exciting?
Because of the time pressure, it's always a little exciting of course, but it's not scary. We don't scare you and there are no horror elements in the game.
How can we pay for the Swarte Westenders?
Pay for the game after the reservation is confirmed by us via iDeal. Drinks can be paid with us via PIN or wireless. For companies it is possible to make an invoice afterwards.
The Tower Keeper
Why can't we play the Tower Guardian during the week?
Unfortunately, we are allowed to offer our game in the water tower a maximum of 6 days per month. This is why we choose the weekends, when by far the most groups want to come. Therefore, weekdays are unfortunately not possible at this time, unless you want to come with more than 12 people; please contact us!
What exactly is The Tower Keeper?
The Tower Keeper is a unique escape game in the 50 meter high water tower of Aalsmeer. In 1 or 2 teams of up to 6 people per team you try to figure out the mystery of the builders of the water tower. Will your team succeed in reaching the top within 60 minutes by puzzling, searching and working together?
Is The Tower Keeper an escape room?
Yes. You must solve puzzles to reach the top of the tower in the allotted time (60 minutes). Small note, however, is that unlike a traditional escape room, you don't go from room to room but must/must explore the entire tower.
Where is The Tower Keeper located?
In the water tower of Aalsmeer: Kudelstaartseweg 16
Can we have a drink at the Tower Keeper's as well?
No, unfortunately that will no longer be possible as of 2025. However, you can visit adjacent restaurants On the Rock or Christiani.
I am in a wheelchair, so can I play the Towerkeeper?
No that is unfortunately not possible. The tower is 50 meters high, and climbing stairs is required.
Can we play the Tower Keeper in English?
Yes! Just check the box in the booking process.
Is The Tower Keeper scary/exciting?
Because of the time pressure, it's always a little exciting of course, but it's not scary. We don't scare you and there are no horror elements in the game.
How can we pay the Towerkeeper?
Payment for the game is done after the reservation is confirmed by us via iDeal. For companies it is possible to make an invoice afterwards.
The Black Rose
What exactly is The Black Rose?
The Black Rose is an escape game in which your team must break into the Flower Art Museum in Aalsmeer and then puzzle out 9 works of art from the museum unseen. So it's a kind of break-in escape game, but in a real museum!
Is The Black Rose an escape room?
Yes, in fact it does. There is time pressure, there are puzzles and an end goal (getting out of the museum again). But unlike a normal escape room, this game does not take place in a self-built setting; you will "really" break into an existing underground museum!
Where is The Black Rose located?
The Black Rose takes place at the Flower Art Museum in Aalsmeer; at Kudelstaartseweg 1.
Can we have a drink at the Black Rose, too?
Yes you can! There is (limited) time for this at the museum afterwards.
I am in a wheelchair, so can I play the Black Rose?
Yes you can! The first part of the game (getting from outside to inside) will be tricky, but this only saves a few minutes of the whole thing. You can just enter through the main entrance! Please do indicate this in advance in your booking.
Can we play the Black Rose in English?
Yes you can! Just check the box in the booking system.
Is The Black Rose scary/exciting?
It is certainly exciting because you have to break into a museum unseen. There is limited light inside and you will have to be quiet to avoid the guard hearing you! Scary it is not; there are no scare moments or horror elements.
How can we pay for the Black Rose?
Pay for the game after the reservation is confirmed by us via iDeal. Drinks can be paid with us via PIN or wireless. For companies it is possible to make an invoice afterwards.
Turf Mijdrecht
Where is Turf Mijdrecht located?
Turf Mijdrecht can be found above the Zeeman in the shopping street in the center of Mijdrecht. The address is Dorpsstraat 37A.
Is Turf Mijdrecht the same as Escape Mijdrecht?
Escape Mijdrecht transitioned to Turf Mijdrecht as of May 1, 2024. The rooms have undergone minor upgrades, but have otherwise remained the same. However, at Turf Mijdrecht we now also offer our game Trust Nobody for groups up to 30 people and a pub quiz every second Thursday of the month!
Which room at Turf Mijdrecht is most suitable for us?
The most difficult room at Turf Mijdrecht is Space Lab. Here we recommend coming with 4 to 6 players.
The Florijnen is our smallest room; for this we recommend a maximum of 4 players.
The Kingdom and Florins are best suited to play with children. However, we do recommend a minimum age of 11.
The Temple and the Kingdom are fairly similar in difficulty and format. Both are suitable for up to 6 people.
Space Lab and the Kingdom are the only rooms that can be played in English.
Can we play the escape rooms in Mijdrecht in English?
Yes, 2 of the 4 rooms at Turf Mijdrecht can be played in English: The Kingdom and Space Lab.
Is Turf Mijdrecht wheelchair friendly?
There is an elevator at Turf Mijdrecht, making our bar accessible (for Trust Nobody and the pub quiz). Our escape rooms are unfortunately not... Space Lab is ground floor, but the doors are 65 cm wide at the narrowest, so most wheelchairs cannot pass through them. Also, our restrooms are not adapted for the disabled.
How can we pay?
We do not accept cash at Turf Mijdrecht; you can only pay on the spot with PIN or credit card. In principle, you pay for rooms in advance via iDeal, but companies can also pay afterwards by invoice or thus on the spot by card.
